Research advances of interleukin-6 in peritoneal dialysis-related complications

Peritoneal dialysis(PD)is an effective renal replacement therapy for patients with end-stage renal disease and peritoneal dialysis-related complications have restrict the development of PD.Interleukin-6 plays an important role in pathophysiological processes of peritoneal dialysis-related complications.This review summarized the latest researches of IL-6 in peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis,peritoneal fibrosis and cardiovascular events and elucidated the relationship between IL-6 and peritoneal dialysis-related complications.
