Risk factors and nomogram of cardiovascular adverse events in patients with end-stage renal diseases

    • Objective To explore the risk factors of cardiovascular adverse events(CAE) in patients with end-stage renal diseases(ESRD) to establish a risk prediction model. Methods Blood biochemical and echocardiographic parameters of 414 ESRD patients were retrospectively reviewed.According to the presence or absence of CAE, they were assigned into two groups of CAE(n=233) and non-CAE(n=181).CAE risk factors were analyzed by R software. Then risk prediction model and nomogram were established.Calibration curve, C-index and goodness-of-fit test were employed for evaluating the nomogram model. Results Multivariate Logistic regression indicated that age, diabetes mellitus, serum phosphate, hemoglobin, left atrial diameter(LAD), ratio of early mitral flow velocity and early mitral annulus velocity at interventricular septum(E/e') were correlated independently with CAE risk. The calibration curves were in decent agreement(C-index=0.868, R2=0.517).Conclusion Age, diabetes mellitus, serum phosphate, low hemoglobin, LAD and E/e' are independently associated with CAE risk. And nomogram can predict the risk of CAE in ESRD patients.
