Research advances of acute focal bacterial nephritis

Although acute focal bacterial nephritis (AFBN) has been proposed for over 4 decades,it lacks systematic study. Currently most published studies have recruited only a small number of patients and focused upon children. However,in clinical practices,AFBN is becoming more and more common in adults in recent years. For the purposes of improving clinicians' understanding of disease, minimizing misdiagnosis and preventing unnecessary invasive surgical procedures,the authors reviewed the latest research status of AFBN in detail.
