Shared decision making in the treatments of chronic renal failure

Widely recognized in the world, shared decision-making (SDM) model may enhance patient awareness of disease, patient adherence and satisfaction, develop treatment outcomes, improve physician-patient relationship and control medical expediture.This review summarized SDM model in the treatments for chronic renal failure (CRF), explored current challenges and provided advices about implementing SDM in the treatments for CRF in China.Thus nephrologists can understand and practice shared decision-making and implement patient-centered medical practices.
