Ultrasound-guided percutaneous translumnal angioplasty for arteriovenous access(Ⅲ): overview of anesthesia

    • The appropriate anesthesia methods in ultrasound-guided percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of arteriovenous access is of great significance for improving patient compliance and comfort, improving patient and surgeon satisfaction. At present, the commonly used anesthesia methods include surface anesthesia, local infiltration anesthesia, nerve block anesthesia, general anesthesia and combination of multiple anesthesia methods, etc. Understanding the indications, advantages and disadvantages of various anesthesia methods is necessary for us to choose appropriate anesthesia method. This article will discuss the application of the above anesthesia methods in percutaneous transluminal angioplasty of arteriovenous access. Among them, local infiltration anesthesia and axillary brachial plexus block anesthesia are ideal anesthesia technique, which will be described in detail.
