Abstract
Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor is a type 2 diabetes (T2DM) sugar-lowering agent.Numerous clinical trials have demonstrated that it could lower cardiovascular mortality in type 2 diabetics. As shown by growing evidence, use of SGLT-2 inhibitor was associated with the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI).This review focused upon the mechanisms by which SGLT-2 inhibitor caused AKI and assisted in identifying individuals at a risk of AKI.
