Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between serum uric acid and 25-hydroxyvitamin D325-(OH) VitD3in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients and explore the effect of serum uric acid on 25-(OH) VitD3 in MHD patients. Methods A total of 108 MHD patients were assigned into vitamin D poor group(n=71) and vitamin D suitable group(n=37) according to the 25-(OH) VitD3 levels. And the 25-(OH) VitD3 levels were detected by fluorescent immunochromatography. And blood routine, albumin, creatinine, urea nitrogen, serum uric acid, calibration calcium, phosphorus and parathyroid hormone were measured. The changes of parameters in different groups were recorded and their relevance analyzed. Results The proportion of female(χ2=4.354, P=0.037), predialysis serum uric acid(t=2.995, P=0.003) and predialysis phosphorus(t=2.072, P=0.041) were significantly higher in vitamin D poor group than those in vitamin D suitable group. In our subjects, 25-(OH) VitD3 was negatively correlated with female, mean platelet volume and serum uric acid(r=-0.263, -0.270, -0.210, P=0.006, 0.005, 0.030). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that female(β=-3.269, P=0.035), high mean platelet volume(β=-1.610, P=0.007) and high serum uric acid(β=-0.019, P=0.016) were independently correlated with lower 25-(OH) VitD3 level in MHD patients. Conclusion Female MHD patients are more prone to a deficiency of 25-(OH) VitD3 than male counterparts. High serum uric acid and high mean platelet volume may lower the level of 25-(OH) VitD3 in MHD patients.
