    Interaction between chronic kidney disease and intestinal microbiome

    • Along with the deepened research of intestinal microbiome, increasing scholars have focused on the correlation between intestinal microbiome and chronic kidney disease. Hundred trillion of intestinal microbes play an important role in the development and outcome of chronic kidney disease. Patients with chronic kidney diseases often have destruction in the intestinal environment and the epithelial barrier, resulting in significantly different intestinal flora from normal people. The imbalance of intestinal flora and the accumulation of intestinal uremic toxins further aggravate chronic kidney diseases. In recent years, some studies on the regulation of intestinal microbiome for the treatment of chronic kidney diseases have provided new ideas for the control of progression of chronic kidney diseases. This paper focuses on the interaction between chronic kidney diseases and intestinal microbiome, and introduces the treatment methods of restoring intestinal microbiome balance.
