Abstract
Objective To study the related factors of peritonitis in patients with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), and analyze reasons and seek countermeasures, in order to provide evidence for the prevention of peritonitis. Methods During the period of May 2015 to May 2016 in Wuhan Central Hospital, 72 cases of CAPD due to chronic renal failure were studied, including 19 patients with symptoms of peritonitis. Seventy-two patients were grouped according to the age, onset season, education level, and basic diseases. The data about peritonitis and recurrence were analyzed comparatively and statistically. Results The incidence of peritonitis in CAPD patients was increased with age (<30 years old: 11.1%; >60 years old: 40.0%); The incidence of peritonitis from May to October each year was significantly higher (37.1%) than that in other seasons (16.2%) (P<0.05). The incidence of peritonitis in those with the junior high school below was significantly higher (45.8%) than that in those with the junior high school and above (16.7%) (P<0.05). The incidence of peritonitis in diabetes patients receiving CAPD was significantly higher (52.4%) than in those without diabetes (16.7% or 15.6%) (P<0.05).Conclusions Statistically, the related factors of peritonitis following CAPD include age, seasons, the education level and diabetes. According to the correlative factors in clinical work, before the peritoneal dialysis treatment for chronic renal failure patients, we should do a good job in prevention of peritonitis in patients with postoperative which should strengthen the standardization of the operation training, we must focus on the matters needing attention in the process of operation, the patients will develop good habits and customs, and instruct patients on a regular basis to participate in our health education lecture hall, actively cooperate with the hospital information back, as far as possible to reduce the probability of peritonitis, improve patient quality of life. If peritonitis has already occurred, we should suit the processing as soon as possible, in order not to affect the prognosis of patients.
