Abstract: A growing number of clinical studies have shown that lipid-lowering statins can delay the progression of chronic kidney disease and reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events.Currently there is no effective drug treatment for acute kidney injury(AKI).Recent evidence has shown that statins have protective effects on AKI.This review focused upon the effects of statins on AKI so as to provide new rationales for the treatment of AKI.
