Abstract:
Hemadsorption, generally including hemoperfusion and plasma-adsorption, is one of the common blood purification technologies. It removes pathogenic solutes in blood or plasma through activated carbon or resin in the adsorption column, thus achieving the goal of effectively treating clinical diseases. In recent years, with the improvement of biocompatibility of adsorbents and the development of new adsorbents, hemadsorption has been increasingly highlighted in the field of blood purification. The blood coagulation system is activated when blood goes through the extracorporeal circulation. Therefore, anticoagulation is one of the key technologies for effective hemadsorption. This review summarized the treatment mode, application field, anticoagulation mode of hemadsorption, and forecasted the future research direction.
