Abstract: Dialyzer performance, depending on clearance rate and biocompatibility of solute on the dialytic membrane, is the most important basis for selection of a dialyzer, and can affect clinical outcomes in maintenance hemodialysis patients. In this paper, the definition, development course and classification of dialyzer performance, and its effect on patients' outcome are reviewed.
